Samuel Oyer
Dr. Oyer is an Associate Professor and academic facial plastic & reconstructive surgeron at the University of Virginia in the USA. He is the division director and fellowship director for facial plastic & reconstructive surgery within the department of Otolaryngology. He also directs the multi-disciplinary facial nerve center at the University of Virginia.
His clinical practice encompasses the breadth of facial plastic surgery with a strong emphasis on facial reanimation, Mohs reconstruction, rhinoplasty, facial trauma, and aesthetic facial rejuvenation. He has research interests across this spectrum as well with a particular focus on patient outcomes research.
Professionally, he is an associate editor for the Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine Journal. He also serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology, and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He is a faculty member of the AO-CMF Trauma Foundation and serves on the board of directors for the Sir Charles Bell Society, an international society focused on treatment of facial paralysis.
