Patravoot Vatanasapt
Dr. Patravoot is an Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He is a former Head of the Department and currently serves as the Director of the Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship Program at KKU. He has also chaired the Cancer Informatics Committee of Khon Kaen Province, overseeing the population-based cancer registry.
His research focuses on the epidemiology of head and neck cancer and the carcinogenesis of HPV- and EBV-related head and neck cancers. He was invited to join the working group for the IARC Handbook Volume 19: Oral Cancer Prevention. Additionally, he directs the ASEAN Head and Neck Dissection Course, providing surgical training workshops to fellows from across Southeast Asia. He also led the initiative to create the Diploma of the Thai Subspecialty Board in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology.
In the realm of professional leadership, Dr. Patravoot has held several prominent positions, including Immediate Past President of the Asian Society of Head and Neck Oncology (ASHNO) and Past President of the Thai Society of Head and Neck Oncology (TSHNO). He also serves as a member of the Council and Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery; Board member of the Asia-Oceania Association of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, and an Advisory Board member of the Royal College of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery of Thailand.
