Niccolò Mevio
Niccolò Mevio, MD, is a consultant otorhinolaryngologist at ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda (Milan), where since 2016 he has directed operative programmes in endoscopic sinus and skull-base surgery, head&neck surgery and general otology. Graduating with highest honours from the University of Pavia and subsequently completing fellowships in Milan and Amsterdam, he has accumulated a caseload exceeding 3,000 paediatric and adult procedures that range from routine functional endoscopic sinus surgery to complex cranio-facial and skull-base resections as well as salivary glands, laryngeal and thyroid operations, thereby addressing the full spectrum of benign and malignant disease.
In parallel with his clinical work, Dr Mevio is a contract lecturer for the University of Milan residency programme and has served as invited faculty or surgical tutor at more than one hundred national and international congresses, dissection courses and workshops on endoscopic sinonasal, head&neck and otologic techniques, experience that underlines his commitment to surgical education. His scholarly output includes over thirty peer-reviewed articles and numerous prize-winning presentations on advanced rhinological and oncological surgery.
As professional engagement he is an active member of the Italian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Surgery (SIO) and sits on the executive board of the Lombard ENT Group (GLO), contributing regularly as an invited lecturer and panellist at their annual meetings. Fluent in English and French, Dr Mevio continues to combine high-volume clinical practice with teaching and research, advancing minimally invasive techniques for the benefit of the patients.
