Tuba Doğan Karataş
Dr. Tuba Doğan Karataş is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her medical education at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine and received her specialty training in Otorhinolaryngology at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine between 2012 and 2016. In her residency thesis, she investigated the audiological and electrophysiological evaluation of hearing levels in patients with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever.
Following her residency training, she worked as an otorhinolaryngology specialist at Sivas Numune Hospital and later at Malatya Training and Research Hospital. She currently continues her academic and clinical practice at Sivas Cumhuriyet University. Her main areas of interest include otology, rhinology, phoniatrics, hearing disorders, voice diseases, tinnitus, and head and neck surgery.
Dr. Doğan Karataş has authored numerous publications in national and international scientific journals. Her studies published in SCI-E and other internationally indexed journals have focused on topics such as the role of the triglyceride-glucose index in sudden hearing loss and quality-of-life assessments in patients who will use hearing devices. She has also presented many oral presentations at important scientific meetings, including IFHNOS, Rhinocamp Congress, Pan-European Voice Conference (PEVOC), and the Turkish National Congress of Otorhinolaryngology. Her study entitled “Postoperative Hemorrhage in Pediatric Tonsillectomy: The Role of Tonsil Size and Suturation” received the second-place award in the general ENT category at the 46th Turkish National Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
In addition to her scientific research, she has contributed as an author to book chapters on salivary gland diseases, facial nerve disorders, and cosmetic upper eyelid surgery. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Turkish Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery Association, the Phoniatrics Association, the Voice-Speech-Swallowing Disorders Association, and the Union of European Phoniatricians. She also holds the national proficiency certificate granted by the Turkish Board of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery and continues her postgraduate education in phoniatrics.
