<p>Tarika Srinivasan is a second-year resident in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her MD and a Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery at Harvard Medical School. Prior to that, she graduated summa cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin with dual degrees in Philosophy and Biochemistry Honors.</p> <p>Her research applies implementation science to expanding access to hearing and otolaryngologic care in rural, remote, and low-resource settings. As a predoctoral fellow with the Center for Hearing Health Equity at the University of Arkansas, she contributed to the Appalachian STAR and North STAR hybrid effectiveness–implementation trials of school-based hearing screening with specialty telehealth follow-up in rural Kentucky and Alaska Native communities, and her master’s thesis examined the delivery of these programs. Her research was supported by a grant from the American Otological Society. Her honors thesis at Harvard Medical School focused on equipment disparities in global otolaryngologic care, with a pilot equipment appraisal conducted in Uganda. As Executive Research Lead of the Global OHNS Initiative, she led multinational studies of the otolaryngology workforce, essential equipment, and global barriers to care, with work published in JAMA Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology. While at Harvard Medical School, she received the Hollis L. Albright Award for Excellence in Surgery.</p> <p>Her current work focuses on rural–urban heterogeneity in implementation outcomes, qualitative methodology in pragmatic trials, global surgical collaborations, and ethical dilemmas in otolaryngology.</p>
