<p>My main areas of interests in surgery are transnasal skull base surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery of the maxillofacial region in children using microsurgical techniques as well as tumors of the major salivary glands and thyroid gland tumors. Over the years of my work, I have performed more than 4,000 surgeries as a primary surgeon.</p> <p>My colleagues and I have developed fundamentally new areas in pediatric head and neck surgery: pediatric transnasal endoscopic skull base surgery, microsurgical reconstruction of the maxillofacial region, nerve-sparing thyroid and salivary gland surgery, as well as surgery of extra-organ neck tumors. We also have implemented individual prototyping and 3D modeling techniques for jaw prosthesis in children.</p> <p>Over the years of my work at the Center, 8 doctors from the department of surgery have become heads of departments. Under my scientific supervision, 5 candidates of medical sciences and 2 doctors of medical sciences defended their theses.</p> <p>Currently, I am the Director General of the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology of Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation and continue to be actively involved in clinical and research work.</p>
