Dr. med. Eren Erdogan is a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at St. Josefs Hospital Hagen, an academic teaching hospital affiliated with Witten/Herdecke University, Germany.

He received his medical education at Marmara University in Istanbul and completed several ERASMUS placements at the University of Bonn. His clinical training included appointments at University Hospital Aachen, University Hospital Bonn, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, University Hospital Mannheim, and Marmara University Hospital. This multidisciplinary background provided him with experience in otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery, visceral surgery, emergency and intensive care medicine, radiology, and pediatrics.

Dr. Erdogan’s academic work focuses on surgical innovation, artificial intelligence, robotic microsurgery, intraoperative cochlear monitoring, and digital technologies in medical education. His research includes intraoperative monitoring of cochlear function using the Active Insertion Monitoring system, wireless electromyographic assessment of surgeon ergonomics during robot-assisted microsurgery, AI-based real-time image analysis, and the use of three-dimensional and mixed-reality technologies, including HoloLens 2, in anatomical and surgical training.

He has presented his work at numerous national and international scientific meetings and has contributed to publications on cochlear monitoring, robotic microsurgery, surgical ergonomics, artificial intelligence, and innovative teaching methodologies. His academic achievements have been recognized with several distinctions, including the Henning Hildmann Poster Award in 2022.

Dr. Erdogan is a member of several national and international professional organizations and a founding member of the German-Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (DTG-HNO). By combining clinical expertise with emerging technologies and academic teaching, he aims to advance patient-centred surgical care and contemporary medical education in otorhinolaryngology.
