Eren Erdoğan

<p>Dr. Eren Erdogan currently serves as a Senior Physician (Funktionsoberarzt) in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at St. Josef Hospital Hagen, affiliated with the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany.</p> <p>He obtained his medical degree from Marmara University, Istanbul, and completed several ERASMUS programs at the University of Bonn. His clinical training included positions at renowned institutions such as the University Hospital Aachen, University Hospital Bonn, Charité Berlin, University Hospital Mannheim, and Marmara University Istanbul. These experiences provided him with a broad foundation in otorhinolaryngology as well as in visceral surgery, radiology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and intensive care medicine.</p> <p>Dr. Erdogan’s academic interests focus on intraoperative cochlear monitoring, ergonomic analyses in otorhinolaryngological procedures, and the application of digital 3D visualization technologies in surgical education. His research includes pioneering work on intraoperative monitoring of cochlear function using the Active Insertion Monitoring (AIM) system, wireless electromyographic analysis in robot-assisted microsurgery, and the educational potential of mixed-reality platforms such as HoloLens2 in anatomy and surgical training.</p> <p>He has presented his findings at numerous national and international meetings, including the Annual Meetings of the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and has published and presented on topics ranging from cochlear monitoring and robotic microsurgery to innovative teaching methodologies in medical education. His contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Henning-Hildmann Poster Prize in 2022.</p> <p>Beyond his clinical and research activities, Dr. Erdogan has been actively involved in medical student organizations and initiatives to promote organ and blood donation. He is the founder of the association KANOPE and has held leadership positions within the Turkish Medical Student International Committee (TurkMSIC).</p> <p>Dr. Erdogan is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the European Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (EORL-HNS), the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (DGHNO), the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology, and the Association of West German ENT Specialists (WDHNO). He is also a founding member and auditor of the German-Turkish Society for ENT (DTG-HNO).</p> <p>With his combined expertise in clinical practice, surgical innovation, and academic teaching, Dr. Erdogan is committed to advancing patient care and medical education in the field of otorhinolaryngology.</p>
