Dr. Utku Kubilay, MD, FEBORL-HNS
Dr. Utku Kubilay is a board-certified otorhinolaryngologist with extensive clinical and academic experience in the field of ENT and head and neck surgery. He graduated with honors from Marmara University School of Medicine (English program) in 1999 and completed his residency training in Otorhinolaryngology at Kartal Training and Research Hospital in 2003.
Following his residency, he served as a senior specialist, actively contributing to postgraduate medical education and resident training. His early academic work included cadaveric anatomical studies and experimental research, which formed the basis of his scientific approach to surgical practice.
In 2005, Dr. Kubilay was a clinical observer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA, where he gained experience in advanced head and neck oncology. He has further expanded his expertise through participation in numerous international cadaver dissection courses and scientific meetings across Europe and the United States.
Dr. Kubilay holds the European Board Certification in Otorhinolaryngology (Fellow of the European Board of ORL-HNS – FEBORL-HNS) and is an active member of several international scientific societies. He has also received formal training in sleep medicine and has contributed to the establishment and management of sleep laboratories in clinical practice.
Academically, Dr. Kubilay has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and has presented extensively at national and international scientific meetings. His work spans a broad spectrum of otorhinolaryngology, with a particular focus on functional and reconstructive surgery.
Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 20,000 surgical procedures, reflecting his high-volume surgical practice and clinical expertise.
His main areas of interest include facial plastic and reconstructive surgery (particularly rhinoplasty), otologic microsurgery, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, lacrimal surgery (endoscopic DCR), sleep apnea surgery, phonosurgery, and salivary gland surgery.
Dr. Kubilay is currently practicing at İzmir City Hospital, where he is actively involved in both advanced clinical care and academic activities.
He is fluent in English and continues to contribute to international scientific collaboration and education.
