Melis Senem Bal
<p>Dr. Melis Senem Bal graduated from TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Faculty of Medicine, in 2019. Following her graduation, she gained significant clinical experience by serving as a general practitioner in an emergency department for one year. She commenced her residency in Otorhinolaryngology after achieving a prestigious top-500 ranking in the national medical specialty examination (TUS) and is currently serving as a final-year resident (senior resident) at the Ankara Etlik City Hospital ENT Clinic.</p>
<p>Her medical thesis specifically investigating "Skull Base Osteomyelitis." She practices in a high-volume clinical environment that provides an extensive data pool for both resident training and academic research. The clinic is distinguished by its highly experienced faculty, particularly in skull base surgery and advanced-stage head and neck cancers. Within this robust academic setting, she continues her research utilizing evidence-based methodologies.</p>
<p>Her international perspective was shaped by a two-month clinical observership (hospitation) at Klinikum Bielefeld in Germany during her medical studies. An active member of the Turkish-German ENT Association, Dr. Bal consistently participates in the organization’s academic activities and has been an engaged participant in numerous scientific seminars, courses, and congresses throughout her career. Dr. Bal is a native Turkish speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in German.</p>
