<p>Agata Gierlotka, MD, PhD, is a specialist in otolaryngology with a primary focus on endoscopic skull base surgery. She is affiliated with the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, where she integrates clinical practice, scientific research, and academic teaching.</p> <p>She currently serves as a Lecturer and Academic Teacher at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, where she is actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, resident supervision, and surgical training. Her teaching emphasizes anatomical precision, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary collaboration.</p> <p>Her clinical expertise encompasses endoscopic skull base surgery, management of head and neck cancer, airway disorders, and transsphenoid aproached to pituitary tumors. She routinely performs image-guided procedures and works closely with neurosurgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and pediatric specialists to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.</p> <p>Dr. Gierlotka has participated in numerous international fellowships, courses, and advanced surgical trainings, including programs in Verona (endoscopic transnasal and transorbital approaches), Santiago de Chile (Panamerican Congress of Otorhinolaryngology), Singapore (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery), Slough, United Kingdom (Frontal Sinus Masterclass), Berlin and Graz (rhinosurgery), Amsterdam at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, as well as trainings at Ege University in Izmir, Turkey, Ain Shams Specialized Hospital in Cairo, and Dolj County University Emergency Hospital in Craiova.</p> <p>She is the author or co-author of more than 30 scientific publications in otorhinolaryngology, published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. She regularly presents her research at scientific meetings and contributes to the advancement of minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques in skull base surgery. Through her clinical, academic, and research activities, Dr. Agata Gierlotka advances the development of modern otolaryngology and the improvement of surgical standards in complex head and neck procedures.</p>
