I earned my PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Tokyo in 2012, and subsequently I assumed the role of principal investigator at the Laboratory of Virology at the National Institute of Amazonian Research-INPA in Manaus, Brazil, beginning in 2013.Throughout my research career, I have focused on the epidemiology of emerging and re-emerging viruses, with a particular emphasis on disease-related immunological profiles that arise from viral infections. Currently, my research interests are focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying virus-induced diseases.
