<p>Dr Mariam Shahid is a Core Surgical ENT Trainee based in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. She graduated from the University of Liverpool with her MBChB and an MRes in Clinical Sciences, in which she was awarded a distinction. She has presented an audit and published its case report at the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians Annual National Audit Meeting in June 2023, and has won the Henri Sueke Prize for her Oral presentation at the Ophthalmology and Vision Science Research Prize Meeting in November 2022. Recently, she has presented posters at CEORL-HNS 2026, the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, and the ESC Congress. Her current research focuses on optimising healthcare resource use to improve patient care and outcomes in ENT. Her career goal is to work as an Academic Clinician, contributing to national guideline development in the UK.</p>
