Shingo Umemoto
Dr. Shingo Umemoto is an otorhinolaryngologist in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Oita University Faculty of Medicine, Japan. He specializes in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery, with particular expertise in endoscopic sinus surgery and the management of sinonasal and skull base disorders.
His research interests focus on mucosal immunology and intranasal drug and vaccine delivery. He collaborates with basic scientists studying nasal mucosal immunity and serves as a visiting researcher at Chiba University Hospital. He previously conducted research training at the Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo, and at the University of California, San Diego. His work aims to bridge clinical rhinology and translational research, particularly in the development and evaluation of intranasal therapeutic strategies and nasal drug delivery platforms.
Dr. Umemoto has presented clinical and translational research in rhinology and skull base surgery and is actively engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations integrating otolaryngology, immunology, and biomedical engineering.
