The Evolution of Airway Balloon Dilation
Mike Rutter

While balloon dilation of the airway is not new, the remarkable adoption of this over the last 20 years has caused a marked change in pediatric airway surgery. This talk would serve to not only describe the history of balloon dilation, but look at the evolution of balloon dilation, including indications, guidelines, adjunctive procedures, and novel tips and tricks. It will also discuss the pros and cons of compliant and non-compliant balloons, and the relevance of pressure vs diameter.
