Prof. Dr. Mehmet ADA

Retired Faculty Member of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University (1986-2019), Istanbul

He started his ENT specialization at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1986. He completed his specialization in 1991 and remained at the same faculty as a chief assistant. In 1993, he served in the organization of the IFOS World ENT meeting held in our country. He became an associate professor in 1995. From August 12-30, 1996, he received training in temporal bone and sinus surgery on cadavers at the Georgia Ear Institute, International Center for Otologic Training (ICOT), Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia, USA. He became a professor in 2000. He retired from his position at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2019. He served as a member of the advisory and supervisory board and the advisory board of the competency board of the Turkish Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Society. He served two terms as a board member and 2nd Vice President in the same association. He is also a board member and one of the founders of the Turkish Ear, Nose, and Throat and Head and Neck Foundation. He is a board member of the Pediatric ENT Association. He is the founder and former President of the Istanbul ENT and Head and Neck Specialists Association. He is a founding member and supervisory board member of the Academic Respiratory Society. He is also a member and board member of the Laryngology and Anatomy Research Association, the Otology and Neuro-Otology Association, and the Pediatric Infection Association. He serves as a reviewer or consultant for the following journals: Journal of Advanced Otology, ENT Specialization, Praxis of ORL, ENT Forum ENT-Head and Neck Specialists, Fırat Medical Electronics, Turkish Archives of Pediatrics, Marmara Medical Journal, Istanbul Medical Journal, ENT Case Electronics, and Journal of Pediatric ORL. He is primarily interested in Pediatric ENT, Otology, Neuro-Otology, Rhinology, and Laser Surgery. Over the past 10 years, his articles, conference presentations, panels, and authorship have focused primarily on otology, pediatric ENT, and rhinology. He has authored numerous articles, books, and journal chapters in both domestic and international publications. He is currently the President of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Association.
