Pavel Sudarev

Pavel Alekseevich Sudarev is a Russian otorhinolaryngologist and clinical researcher based at the L.I. Sverzhevsky Research Clinical Institute of Otorhinolaryngology of the Moscow City Health Department in Moscow, Russia. His clinical background covers the full spectrum of general ENT, with particular expertise in otology and laryngeal disorders, including chronic middle ear disease, otosclerosis, tympanosclerosis and Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Dr. Sudarev’s principal scientific interest lies in the application of computer vision and deep learning to endoscopic diagnostics of ear and laryngeal diseases. He is the author of a doctoral dissertation entitled “Innovative screening diagnostics of laryngeal, external and middle ear diseases using computer‑vision algorithms based on deep machine learning,” completed at the Sverzhevsky Institute in 2025. In this work he helped design and validate convolutional neural‑network models for automated analysis of otoscopic and laryngoscopic images, build large curated image databases of the tympanic membrane, external auditory canal and larynx, and translate these algorithms into clinical decision‑support tools.

His publication record includes peer‑reviewed articles on early detection of laryngeal neoplasms with neural networks, AI‑assisted diagnosis of ear pathology, and the broader role of artificial intelligence in ENT diagnostics, as well as patents and database registrations for ENT surgical simulators and endoscopic image repositories. Dr. Sudarev also served as the institutional coordinator for a large Moscow pilot project evaluating AI‑based software for routine analysis of ENT endoscopic images in three public medical organizations, which enrolled more than 3,400 patients and demonstrated improved diagnostic quality.
