<p>Francis Martínez Samaniego, MD, is a Peruvian Otolaryngologist with extensive expertise in otologic surgery and cochlear implantation, having performed more than 200 cochlear implant procedures since 2017. He is the first Peruvian surgeon certified by the four leading global cochlear implant manufacturers: Advanced Bionics (USA), MED-EL (Austria), Cochlear (Australia), and Nurotron (China).</p> <p>He earned his Medical Degree from Universidad Nacional del Centro del Perú (2011) and completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, with hospital training at Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza (2012–2015). He currently serves as Attending Physician in the Pediatric Otolaryngology Department at Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño San Borja (INSN-SB), where he previously served as Head of Service (2015–2020).</p> <p>Dr. Martínez has completed international fellowships and advanced surgical training in Colombia, Spain, Argentina, and the United States, focusing on temporal bone dissection, endoscopic ear surgery, and exoscopic techniques in cochlear implantation. He is an active member of national and international otolaryngology societies and regularly lectures at scientific meetings on pediatric cochlear implantation and advanced otologic surgery.</p>
