<p>PROFILE OF PROF NEKWU EMMANUEL OKOLUGBO</p> <p>Prof Nekwu Emmanuel Okolugbo, is a Professor of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.</p> <p>I had my Medical training at the University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria where I graduated with an MBBS in Feb 1997</p> <p>I commenced the residency program in Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery at the same in the same institution in September 2000 and completed the Program in May 2006 with the Fellowship of the Medical College of Otorhinolaryngology in November 2006.</p> <p>I thereafter also obtained the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in October 2007.</p> <p>In 2009, I had a training in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery with foremost ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon in the world then in Graz Austria, Prof Karl Heinz Stamberger who was a pioneer in this field.</p> <p>I joined the services of Delta State University Abraka as a Lecturer 1 and rose through the ranks till I was promoted Professor of Surgery in Oct 1st 2021.</p> <p>I also joined the services of Delta State University Teaching Hospital Oghara, where I held several positions including</p> <p>1.Head, Dept of Surgery 2010- 2015</p> <p>2. Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee 2015- 2019.</p> <p>3. Chairman Medical Advisory Committee/Director Clinical Services and Training 2019- 2022 .</p> <p>4. Chief Medical Director/CEO 2022 till 1st June 2025.</p> <p>I am currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences Kwale, Delta State Nigeria.</p> <p>I have over 44 well cited publications in Local, National and International journals I have also written 2 book chapters and a book which is available on Amazon.</p> <p>In September 2012, I became a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and in</p> <p>October 2021, I was inducted into the Highly Prestigious American College of Surgeons.</p> <p>I am also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.</p>
